PDF to JPG & Image to PDF – Local Converter (the "PDF ↔ Image" Chrome extension) · Last updated: October 21, 2026

Nothing leaves your computer

The extension converts PDFs and images inside your own browser. Your files are never uploaded. It has no account, no analytics and no server of ours. The only network contact is the payment service, ExtensionPay, and only if you choose to buy the one-time unlock.

Overview

The PDF ↔ Image extension, published by Essex Software, LLC, turns PDF pages into JPG, PNG or WebP images and folds images into PDF files. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your files and your data.

What we do not collect

Permissions, and why

PermissionWhat it is for
activeTabLets the extension read the PDF in the current tab, only at the moment you click the icon, so it can convert that file.
storageRemembers whether the one-time unlock is active, so the extension works offline. Nothing else is stored.
Access to extensionpay.comCompletes the purchase of the one-time unlock through ExtensionPay (see below). Used for nothing else.

The one-time unlock

Some features (several PDFs in one run, PNG and WebP output, 200 and 300 dpi, page ranges, any number of images into one PDF) are sold as a single one-time unlock. Payment is handled by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe to take the payment. When the extension checks whether the unlock is active, it contacts ExtensionPay with an anonymous installation identifier; ExtensionPay holds that identifier and your payment status, and Stripe holds your payment details. We never see your card. ExtensionPay's own policy is at extensionpay.com/privacy. If the extension is installed without this unlock offered, it makes no network calls at all.

Third parties

There are no other third parties. We do not share, sell or rent any data, because we hold none.

Your rights

International users

Because no data leaves your computer, the extension complies with GDPR, CCPA and similar regulations by design.

Children's privacy

The extension is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13, or from anyone else.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the extension ever sends data anywhere new, this page will say so first, with a new "Last updated" date, and the Chrome Web Store listing's data disclosure will change with it.

Summary

The extension collects nothing. Your PDFs and images are converted on your computer and handed back to you as downloads. No analytics, no account, no server. The only network contact is ExtensionPay, if and when you buy the one-time unlock.
